Kennel cough
Kennel cough is comparable to the human common cold!
· Highly contagious
· Spread by direct contact, aerosol droplets, contaminated surfaces
· Incubation period of 2-14 days, without symptoms but still contagious
What Critter Camp does to help prevent ANYTHING contagious from spreading:
· Require current vaccinations for all animals entering the building
· Sanitize with “RESCUE”: A high quality kennel formulated sanitizer
· Run 3- Air Oasis 5000 air and surface sanitizers (24/7)
· Replace sanitizing bulbs yearly (above standard recommendations)
· Sanitize each run a minimum of twice per day, inside and outside, top to bottom
· Remove any animals immediately that show any symptoms of being ill.
Critter Camp goes above and beyond to keep our Campers safe!
We are very proactive in the prevention of spreading ANYTHING contagious. However, dogs and cats come and go daily, and we do not know if they are incubating any illnesses while here or prior to coming here and therefore spreading their illness. While here if they are not showing any signs of illness we do not know if they are sharing their illness with your pet. If an animal becomes symptomatic, they are immediately removed, owner is contacted, and the owner MUST have the animal picked up immediately (emergency contact). We do not blame our unknowing pets’ owners for their pet becoming ill while here. They would not have known their pet was carrying, incubating and spreading the illness. Please understand that regardless of the preventive measures that we take there is always a risk while boarding your pet that they can encounter a contagious illness that is completely unknown to us.
Humans and animals alike can encounter illness every day. Such as visiting big box pet stores, groomers, doggie daycare, dog parks, shelters, veterinarian etc. You also can carry an illness back to your animal just by visiting one of these places.
In effort to keep Critter Camp a safe environment, we prefer your pet NOT be exposed to any of the places listed above for 14 days prior to their kennel stay.
Thank you for your cooperation and understanding. - Judy Troyer
